New Music School Opening…
More opportunities for piano lessons in Austin and Cedar Park! And guitar, violin, cello, flute, saxophone……..
There’s been a bit of a silence on the blog lately. For that, I apologize. I’ve been up to the top of my head in working to open…..drumroll….a new music school. The school has a Cedar Park address, but is often referred to as the NW Austin area (just a couple of streets over from an Austin address). There’s been a lot of behind the work scenes. This entire process has been in the works for over two years now. I’ve been: interviewing and hiring teachers (I’m so excited about all of them), training to become a certified Music Together Instructor, talking to contractors, talking to brokers, talking to real estate agents, talking to the bank (loans!), talking to companies that sell pianos, talking to companies that sell and rent string instruments, developing a web page…… The list goes on and on, and it’s work that I’ve been doing during my usual summer “free time” and at night after the kids are asleep (can you say web programming until 2 am most nights?).
But the end of the beginning process is near. We are working on getting permits with the city and hope to be open by September of 2010. It’s all very exciting, and I promise to update everyone as the progress continues. In the meantime, this blog will mostly become my personal blog about family and family events, and the new blog/website will be about piano and other music events.

Some of the exciting things we will be offering: Private lessons in: Piano, Guitar, Violin, Cello, Saxophone, Flute. Preschool Piano lessons (ages 3-5) in a group setting for a reduced price. Lessons in pairs (2 students, 1 teacher) for beginners for a reduced price, and Mommy and Me Music Classes for ages 6 weeks-5 years.
